Review

A good mystery is always enjoyable to read. With this story, Kerri takes us to London in the late 1800s. We follow the life of Audrey Rose, a girl fascinated by forensic cinema who fights against the stigmas of society at the time.

During her struggle to continue her beloved profession, she finds herself embroiled in the atrocious and grisly case of Jack the Ripper, or Leather Apron as he was first known.

It is a book that from the first moment is completely immersed in forensic sciences, so if you are very repelled by the whole topic of putrefied courses, dismemberments and forensic practices, I do not recommend it. But it is precisely one of the things I like the most. As a medical lover and Bones fan. Having these detailed descriptions is what gives the story its charm and makes me get into the role much more.

Furthermore, Audrey Rose’s willingness to go against society and her beliefs to pursue her dream is truly an inspiration.

On the other hand, within all the chaos we have small, but no less intense, moments of a budding romance with the mysterious and charismatic Thomas Cresswell.

The story itself is magnificent. The structure, the narration, the details… everything. could it be improved? Possibly, no one is perfect. But it really is a magnificent story that hooks you from the first chapter. I really want to read the other 3 books in this saga and discover what new mysteries Audrey Rose and Thomas bring us. And to see how their relationship develops.

Have you read it? Tell us what you think.

Any recommendation?
