Today I bring you a review of “La Cuenta Atrás para el Verano” by our dearest friend, La Vecina Rubia. She had very high expectations for our novel and she has far exceeded them all.
Synopsis
LIFE IS MEMORIES AND MINE HAVE NAMES OF PERSONS
Can you tell how many people have been part of your life and how many have been able to change it? The last ones are the ones that really matter.
Lauri, the first and most responsible friend of childhood and Nacho, my first love of adolescence. The moody and always sincere Lucía, the calm Sara and the sarcastic Pol. Also Álex, the one who always comes back, and the only woman capable of whispering and shouting, Laura. And of course, MY FATHER, in capital letters.
The countdown to summer intertwines in time, the life of a blonde, which is me, and that of the people who have been the most useful learning that I treasure, because deep down, meeting the most important people in your life is knowing yourself.
Proper names that helped me make the leap from adolescence to maturity, ruffling my hair along the way, but building a brain underneath.
This novel is based on real illusions that I have invented sometimes. Recognize which is something that will be within each of us.
Review
I’ll start by telling you that it is the best book I have read so far. I have been following the blonde neighbor for many years, for her jokes about blondes, for her desire for spelling and for the way she is. I find her a super interesting person who always researches before giving her opinion on a topic.
In this novel we can learn a little more about her, we know more about her as the person she is, with her good and bad moments, her comings and goings, her happiness and sadness.
At the same time, you feel very identified with her experiences because we have all had something similar, and she brings back those memories, the smells, the sensations.
I have been able to feel that this novel was not only the neighbor’s, but also mine and possibly the many other people who have read it.
Summarizing this book is impossible, since the experiences cannot be summarized, so I can only tell you that it is a fresh, dynamic novel that will make you laugh a lot and also cry. And above all, you will make it yours.
As I have commented in previous videos, I hate to highlight books, but with this one I had to break my vote. It has so many phrases and experiences that serve you, that remind you of your own experiences, that it is impossible not to underline it in its entirety.
If you have doubts about whether to read it or not, I highly recommend it, I have never connected so much with a book and I am sure that you will too.
